Emergency Preparedness
The District is committed to being prepared for all types of natural disasters. Below are a list a resources the District has to help protect our water system, however in the event of a major earthquake we recommend that you have stored a minimum of a 72 hour supply of drinking water (1 gallon per person per day).
District Resources:

Tow behind generators - to power booster stations or wells during power outages

Temporary main line trailer - to help jump broken sections of water main after an earthquake

Water distribution stations - should we experience a major earthquake, water will be available at strategic points throughout our system.

Reverse call system - to notify our customers of water outages or water quality issues

Heavy equipment - repair broken mains and service lines

24/7 employees - employees are on call 24/7 to help respond to minor or major emergencies

Mutual aid support - in the event of a major emergency VOMWD can request resources from other agencies throughout the state.
